Organized by the Harvard University Graduate School of Design African American Student Union (GSD AASU), the conference recognizes the contributions of the African diaspora to the design fields and promotes discourse to address and dismantle the institutional barriers faced by those communities.

designing the WE is a for-benefit design studio positioned within the fields of social innovation and community driven social, cultural and economic development. dtW facilitates collaborative processes to redefine how big picture systemic challenges are approached, identify opportunities for action, and co-design more holistic and resilient strategies centered on positive transformation.

A means to contact professional organizations, leading firms and offices, educational institutions, and local governments to demand they use their power to establish policies advancing justice within the design fields. Created by Colloquate, a New Orleans, LA based design firm.

Supports the advancements of African Americans in the areas of architecture, landscape architecture, design, real estate, urban design, and urban planning. Cultivates a space of belonging at the Graduate School of Design, in a country that has historically denied African Americans such spaces. Confronts systemic racial injustice, reimagining design for more equitable futures.

The Hip Hop Architecture Camp uses hip hop culture as a catalyst to introduce underrepresented youth to architecture, urban planning and design.

NOMA seeks to empower its local chapters and membership to foster justice and equity in communities of color through outreach, community advocacy, professional development and design excellence.
