What is OER?


Open Educational Resources (OER) are teaching, learning, and research resources released under an open license that permits their free use and repurposing by others.  OER can be textbooks, full courses, lesson plans, videos, tests, software, or any other tool, material or technique that supports access to knowledge and are openly licensed.

5 Defining Permissions of OER

Retain - right to make, own and control copies of the content.

Reuse - right to use content in a wide range of ways.

Revise - right to adapt, modify or improve the content.

Remix - right to combine original or revised content with other open content to create something new.

Redistribute - right to share copies of orignal content, your revisions, or your revisions with others.
