Instructional Design Services

Instructional Design & Technologies is a unit within the Center for Scholarship, Assessment, Learning & Teaching & Technology under Academic Affairs. Our primary focus is to provide resources, support, and training to faculty and students throughout the University on academic technologies that enhance learning and teaching.

Among the technologies we support are the Bridges (Sakai) Learning Management System used with all our courses, along with e-portfolios, video capture, instructional web conferencing, podcasting, student response systems, and anti-plagiarism tools.

The Instructional Design Team:

  • Supports the integration of instructional technology and instructional design best practices to enhance teaching and learning at the University;

  • Collaborates with faculty and administrators to advance initiatives that contribute to the University's mission and goals in providing flexible and responsive delivery options for a range of student populations, both undergraduate and graduate, onsite, online and blended;

  • Provides faculty with innovative technology solutions and conduct research and development to stay abreast of advances in the field of educational technology and use this knowledge to create scalable, sustainable projects;

  • Provides resources, support, and training to faculty and students throughout the University through the Faculty Innovation & Learning Lab (FILL).
